Mission :
Functioning to maintain public confidence by implementing justly, equitably and courteously the constitutional clauses pertaining to increasing the revenue from the tax collection by motivating and encouraging payees for voluntary payment and desisting from defaulting and levying and collecting stand duty on correct assessment avoiding undercharging by creating sense of willingness in the parties concerned and collecting judicial finds and other license revenue by enforcing the remain parts of the financial statute of no 13 of  1990 except part 6 of it as amended by statute No 7 of 1991.
 
 
Main Functions :
 »  Collecting the 1% turnover tax on wholesale and retail trade and directing it to the provincial treasury.
   
 »  Maintaining the stocks of stands required for allocation of immovable properties in the North Central Province and their sale.
   
 »  Avoid in shortages of stamps, causing as a result of allocating immovable properties, collecting such stamps fees and referring them to the Provincial treasury.
   
 »  Maintaining register relating the stamps fees and forwarding recommendation to the Provincial treasury after checking only on correctness of bank payments of Town Councils/ Pradeshiya Sabhas when requests are received from them.
   
 »  Getting down all chargers collected by Divisional Secretaries under the excise ordinance registering them and referring them to the Provincial treasury.
   
 »  Getting down judicial fines and charges and stamps fees on judicial documents from the judicial institution in the North Central Province, registering them and referring them to the Provincial treasury.
   
 »  Informing the Provincial treasury about the method as to how judicial fines and charges get distributed among Pradeshiya Sabhas and Town Councils.
   
 »  Maintaining stocks of receipt books No NC 100 and submitting them to courts whenever required.
